We are part of the international community and promote intercultural exchange and encounters between people from all over the world – for a cosmopolitan Dresden.
In today’s world, cosmopolitanism is more important than ever as a basic prerequisite for people from different cultural backgrounds to live together peacefully. Tolerance and understanding towards other cultures, foreign value systems, customs and sometimes also ways of thinking form the basis for an integrated ‘togetherness’. Motivated to promote mutual acceptance among people, Dresden citizens and entrepreneurs founded the International Friends Dresden e. V. association in May 2003.
We need cultural exchange and the creation of a cosmopolitan and tolerant atmosphere in Dresden so that people from different backgrounds feel at home in our city. Intercultural dialogue helps to establish Dresden as an attractive science and business location with a high quality of life.
Monthly club evenings for exchange & discussion
We offer open club evenings for members and interested parties several times a year, usually on Mondays at 19:30 in the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum / lecture theatre.
The focus is always on a lecture or discussion topic with an international connection from the fields of art, culture, business, science or society. Members and guests of the association exchange their own experiences and make new contacts in open dialogue and discussion groups.
